A Training Program For A Marathon Developed To Improve Performance

Beginner marathon training schedule demands time and discipline. Incorporating a bit cross training in on an occasional short training day can prevent boredom and injury. Activities such as swimming, water running, cycling or cross country skiing are excellent options as they give your running muscles a break while giving the body with a good endurance workout.

To stay motivated, it is a good idea to monitor your progress. If you’re training with a big goal in mind, it can at times feel like you’ll never get there. It is important to be good to your body by taking your time, but it’s also crucial to be good to your mind by appreciating how far you’ve come. As part of your marathon run training, plan to reward yourself at certain times along the way with a massage, or with a dinner out at your favorite restaurant. This can assist you to continue to feel good about your training process, even if the going gets difficult.
