If you have finally decided it’s time to pick up a new LCD TV maybe you should consider taking a look at the fantastic new range of the LED models are currently available on the market. Sure, there are plenty of bargains to be found right now on existing LCD Technologies but the new range of LED backlit televisions coming from the likes of Samsung and Sony make the traditional CCFL type televisions looks quite dated.
So which companies are actually making these new type of led backlit televisions? Well, most of you are probably already aware the Samsung has a series of offerings ranging from 32 inch LED TVmodels right up to 55 inch flat screens. Also, more recently Sharp all also decided to enter the market but currently they seem to be focusing on the smaller sized HDTV’s. One other contender in the LED market is Sony who have had a 40 inch model for available for quite some time (the 40ZX1) although recently they have launched a 46 inch, the KDL46X4500.
So, what is so great about this new type of television? For a start the imagery is simply amazing, especially when you do side by side comparison between an LED TV model and traditional LCD T V’s. If you need more convincing on how good these TVs actually are head on down to a local store and do a simple comparison – trust me, you’ll be blown away.
One of the biggest problems encountered by many LCD TV’s was the motion blur encountered during fast moving action or sports. Admittedly, many manufacturers produced a range of technological improvements that did a pretty good job of removing this ghosting but many of them only included 100 MHZ technologies in their premium models. So far, we haven’t found an LED TV that doesn’t have at least 100 MHZ Technology as standard which means, hopefully, the bad old days of image blurring are far behind us. In fact, a number of the most recent models have been touted as featuring 200 MHZ Technology.
As recently as nine months ago manufacturers were making a big thing of televisions that had a dynamic contrast ratio of 80,000:1. The new LED models blow this figure away: the lower specifications on the new Samsung UE32B6000 feature a Mega contrast of 1,000,000:1. Just in case you don’t know, the contrast ratio produces the ranges of blacks and deep shadows that you see when viewing your television.
One thing that’s probably going through your mind right now is “how much will it cost me?” To be fair, you will be quite surprised. Most of the led TV’s currently being produced aren’t actually very expensive. Yes the cost more than the existing the LCD TV’s on the market but if you have that little bit of extra cash available it would be well worth investing in a new led TV. One thing we do recommend before you buy is that you do your research. Check out the specifications, read reviews, get to other people’s opinions… In fact, if you know someone that already has one of these models asked them exactly what they think – there’s probably no better way of finding out the hard facts about led TV’s than by asking someone who already owns one.
